About The Space

The 40-footer is the happy outcome of an idea born during the Covid Pandemic lockdown. Not exactly what it seems, it is a forty-foot shipping container transformed into a quaint cottage. Built by the owner, to pass time during the restrictive lockdowns, it offered an outlet for creativity during trying times. 

After the lockdown, the 40-footer was shipped north from Nairobi to the 1200 acre Crest Country Estate in Nanyuki, Laikipia and placed at the estates’ Cottages at The-Hill site.

A place so perfect, it has unobstructed views of Mt Kenya, the Lolldaiga hills and the Aberdare ranges, expect to see the abundant community of Zebras, Antelopes, Warthogs and more.Expect to see an abundance of zebras, antelopes, warthogs, and more. Keep your eyes out for the locally crafted statues of the Big Five scattered throughout the property, and the stunning night views of Nanyuki Town.

The Space

The 40-footer is a luxurious 1 bed, 1 bath cottage, decked out with high end finishes and fittings from top craftsmen and manufacturers.  

It has a queen size bed dressed with 300 count Egyptian cotton bedding and a beautiful bathroom with a hotel standard hot pressure shower. There is also a fully fitted kitchen, living room with a flat screen TV and Starlink high speed Internet.

The spacious patio with its Outdoor Barbecue grill and wood burner are perfect for an evening spent under the stars. It is fully serviced, off-grid and comes with very tight, reliable security. Additionally, the cottage is 100% powered by solar energy.
